Werner and Lukaku could miss Chelsea’s next game after limping off the pitch against Malmo
The Belgian who appeared to be in a blazing form disappointedly ended up with an injury as he was subbed off early in the first half.
Chelsea despite having crushed Malmo in a 4-0 scoreline are worried over their star strikers, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.
With Thomas Tuchel already providing injury update, it’s likely Lukaku and Werner will be out for a longer time.
This would also mean, Tuchel adjusting his formation to such a way that it would suit not having and Werner Lukaku available.
Speaking after the game, Tuchel said of Lukaku’s injury; “We have a twist of the ankle with Romelu. Muscle injury and hamstrings for Timo. They will be some days out, I guess.
Tuchel added: “The two were in good shape. They have a certain statistics on their side. They are dangerous, they can create and score. We need to find solutions.
“The guys who waited for the chance need to prove that they can do the same thing. Whoever it might be, the race is on. The guys who start Norwich next game have our trust. We will try to find new solutions. Let’s try to stay positive.
“We won games without Timo and Romelu before. We don’t want to have these problems too often. But it happens. It’s during the season, you cannot hide from the fact that these type of things happen.”
