Carlos Ancelotti Discloses Why Hazard Will Never Play For Real Madrid Again After Leaving Him Out Against Barcelona

Ancelotti has shared Hazard could never play for Real Madrid again following 2-1 El Clasico victory

Chelsea could finally be getting their man back following recent comments from Carlos Ancelotti amid Eden Hazard’s uncertain future.

The Belgian hasn’t been having the best of times at Santiago Bernabeu since leaving Chelsea following series of injuries.

With the latest coming just days back, Hazard tried to work his way back to fitness but after being named in the squad to take on Barcelona, Ancelotti decided to dump him.

A change of manager at Real Madrid hasn’t brought about a change of fortunes for Eden Hazard , who continues to struggle for minutes at the Spanish club.

The Belgian international cost £88m when he joined from Chelsea in 2019, off the back of helping the Blues win the Europa League under Maurizio Sarri.

However, after two seasons hindered by issues with form and fitness, the 30-year-old was dealt a new blow when head coach Carlo Ancelotti left him on the bench for Sunday’s victory away to Barcelona.

As Hazard looks to rediscover some of the form which led to his move to La Liga, the latest comments from the Real Madrid boss will serve as a reminder of the challenges he needs to overcome.

After sitting out Real Madrid’s 5-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk through injury, Hazard was named in the matchday squad on Sunday.

However, Ancelotti opted for a front three of Karim Benzema, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo, and his team won 2-1 to move within a point of La Liga’s summit.

Hazard is still yet to score this season, and hasn’t started a league game since the win at Valencia on September 19.

Ancelotti was asked about the former Chelsea and Lille man ahead of Real Madrid’s midweek game at home to Osasuna, and made the situation clear.

“The problem [Hazard] has right now is he has a coach who prefers another player,” the Italian said .

“That can happen in a squad like Real Madrid’s. What’s important is the player has the motivation to work to play. He is doing that.”

Hazard has scored just five times across two full seasons for Real Madrid, last finding the net in a draw with Sevilla back in May.

He has been among the goals for Belgium more recently, though, scoring his country’s second in a World Cup qualifying victory over the Czech Republic.

A series of injuries have meant he only played his 50th game for the club this season, but the manager was positive about Hazard’s form and fitness.

“Little by little he is getting back to his best version,” Ancelotti continued.

“I’m convinced that this season he will get to his best and will play more than he is playing now.”

Real Madrid’s Clasico victory left them second in La Liga with a game in hand on league leaders Real Sociedad.

David Alaba scored the opening goal, his first for the club, and Lucas Vazquez doubled the lead before Sergio Aguero scored a late consolation.

Ancelotti’s side have three more games after the Osasuna clash, facing Elche over the weekend before hosting Shakhtar in the Champions League and taking on Rayo Vallecano in their final game before the international break.
