After a successful first year, the Basingstoke Town Youth Academy will be holding trials for their second intake of young players. The trials are open to 16 year old school leavers who wish to develop their football talent whilst gaining an academic qualification at the same time. This will be a 3 year initiative to develop the future players of Basingstoke Town FC. The selected players will train and study together every day on a 3 year sports course specifically designed for the Academy players. This opportunity will only be open to 16 players every year and they must study at BCOT on the designated course. At the end of three years they will receive a BTEC National Diploma in Sport and various other sporting qualifications, and also a firm grounding in football coaching, which will hopefully lead to a place in Basingstoke Town’s first team squad or possibly higher.
