Ben was recalled by Swindon after Paul Sturrock was appointed manager but was shortly released. Ben signed for us, his hometown club during the summer of 2007. He is a creative midfielder with an eye for goal.

He previously spent 8 years in the ranks at QPR where he scored many goals for their youth team. Dean had previously appeared for Beckenham, as well as two spells with Kingstonian. He is now on dual-registration with Kingstonian.

Scott Fitzgerald Position: Striker Date of Birth: 18/11/1979 Birthplace: Hillingdon Previous club: Brentford Scott joined the ‘Stoke in January 2007 upon his release from Brentford. Scott is a renowned goalscorer and was Watford’s leading scorer for the 2003/04 season in the English second tier. Scott has also played for Northwood, Swansea, Leyton Orient, Oxford United, Walsall and AFC Wimbledon.

Piotr Zygier Position: Midfield Date of Birth: 03/05/1982 Birthplace: TBC Previous club: Chrobry Glogow Polish utility man Piotr joined 'Stoke during summer 2007. He is currently on dual-registration with Andover.

Matt Warner Position: Midfield Date of Birth: 12/05/1985 Birthplace: Farnborough Previous club: Farnborough Exciting winger Matt joined ‘Stoke in 2006 from rivals Farnborough Town. Matt has already ensured his name goes down in Basingstoke Town history by scoring the goal in The Dragons 1-0 giant killing of Chesterfield in last season’s FA Cup. His energetic performances earned him both Away Supporters and Junior Dragons Player of the Year for 2006/07.

Matt Neems Position: Midfield Date of Birth: TBC Birthplace: TBC Previous club: N/A Young midfielder Matt was part of the Reserve League winning side in the 2006/07 season. He is yet to play for the first team but has been named amongst the substitutes on a number of occasions.

James Taylor Position: Striker Date of Birth: 02/11/1974 Birthplace: Southampton Previous club: Eastleigh Jimmy joined Basingstoke in 2005 from Eastleigh. He previously spent 6 years at Havant where he was the scorer of many goals. Jimmy has 4 England non-league caps to his name and was voted Basingstoke fans player of the season for the 2006/07 season. He was also The Dragons leading scorer with over 20 goals in all competitions last term.

Michael Charles Position: Striker Date of Birth: 24/04/1987 Birthplace:TBC Previous club: Woking Michael joined Basingstoke upon his release from Conference side Woking in September 2007. He had only just joined the Cards in the summer after leaving Farnborough Town where he scored 33 goals in 93 appearances. He is a fast and skillful striker who knows where the goal is.

He is a utility player and can play at full-back, wide-midfield or in central midfield. The 21-year-old previously played for Aldershot Town.

David Tarpey Position: Striker Date of Birth: TBC Birthplace: TBC Previous club: n/a David was a key part of the reserve team that won the Suburban Premier League in the 2006/07 season. He has since broken into the first team set-up and opened his Town account with a goal in the Hampshire cup against Brading.
