Name: Becky Power
Position: Goalkeeper

Becky broke into the first team squad officially at the start of this season (07-08) when the Ladies lost their first place goalkeeper to her duties in Iraq. But with no worries Becky stepped up and has been outstanding in goal for Town. Her advantages are her quickness and ability to feel no fear when coming out to collect the ball from the opposition. Becky is solid in goal and makes excellent saves when called upon on the pitch.

Name: Jo Poulter (Captain)
Position: Centre Back

Jo is a huge personality for the ladies squad and reflects her character on and off the pitch. She is at her best in the heart of defence, an amazing centre back with all the attributes of power, strength, awareness and confidence. Jo’s authority on the pitch makes her a valuable leader and she leads by example when required. Vocally she is one of the loudest on the pitch and is a key player for Basingstoke.

Name: Laura Barker
Position: Centre Midfield

Laura is another newbie that has progressed positively this season in midfield. Laura is one of the youngsters in the squad but plays with excellent strength she shows through forceful tackles. Her ability to time a crucial tackle means she is developing to become a commanding player in the squad. She loves to make runs forward but has the fitness to track back when needs be. Future prospect of becoming a dominant central midfielder.

Name: Katie Randall
Position: Forward

Katie is a player that contributes to the strike force with her skilful feet. She has the ability to take on defenders and score a goal at the end of it. Katie can hold the ball up well and has an eye for a good pass. She came through into the squad from Steve Pike’s youngster’s teams and has now been with the Ladies senior side for a good few seasons.

Name: Sue Parker
Position: Right Back

Sue has been playing for Town under manager Steve Pike for several seasons. Her regular position is right back but she can make a great centre back when required. Her skilful presence on the pitch, along with her speed, makes her a hard defender to get around. Sue always gives it her all when playing and is a player that has a heart of goal, which reflects in her performance on the pitch.

Name: Kelly Bishenden
Position: Centre Midfield

Kelly has been with the club for the longest period and it shows through her smart style of play on the pitch. She has an eye for a great pass, and always gives credit where it’s due. Her ability to see movement off the ball and play the through ball to the forwards makes her a very knowledgeable player to have in the squad. Kelly also sits in front of the back line and protects the defence, making her an excellent holding midfielder.

Name: Michelle Kimber
Position: Forward

Michelle powered her way into the forward position in 07-08 after being a vital force in Centre Midfield. She is by far one of the Ladies' strongest and most driven players for scoring goals. Her ability to run onto a through pass by out-muscling defenders makes her a huge threat to the opposition. With an eye for goal and huge heart and desire to score, she is a major danger to defenders.

Name: Steve Pike
Position: Manager/Coach

Steve has led the Ladies to great success over a number of seasons. He is truly respected in the squad and is seen as a great manager and coach. He arrived at the club 4 seasons ago when the ladies were on the brink of folding. His knowledge and commitment have influenced the team to play some excellent football that has seen them grow from strength to strength, including getting promoted to Hampshire Division One. His management style is fair and he is extremely loyal to all his players, making him an extremely popular manager.

Name: Stevie Lawler
Position: Left Back

Stevie has progressed in the first team gradually from the youngster’s squad. She made brief appearances for the first team last season but is now a regular for the Ladies, filling the left back position. She has the attribute of being able to play anywhere but is performing well at left back. Still a young player with a lot to learn, Stevie has the hunger for success and desire to succeed to become a strong defender for the squad.

Name: Lianne Hill
Position: Right Midfield

Lianne has made her way from right back to right midfield over a period of seasons. Her ability to chase opponents down with her speed leaves her opposition on the back foot. Lianne has the attributes of committing to a strong tackle as well as sprinting up and down the right flank, which leaves her marking player chasing after her. She is a versatile player who has the potential to play in any position and is a key player in the squad.

Name: Sam Stevens
Position: Left Midfield

Sam has made the left wing position her own due to having the ability to provide excellent crosses with her left foot, even though she’s a right footer! Sam is a true winger in the sense of running forward with pace, and can cross and score excellent goals for the squad. A player the opposition have to watch as she is able to score as well as create goals.

Name: Dave Stevens
Position: Assistant Manager/Coach

Dave is the father of left winger Sam Stevens and has contributed his assistance to the squad for a number of seasons. His advice and passion for Town is second to none, and he gives guidance to players with his famous words of wisdom. He volunteers his time by running the line on home match days and is a pleasure to have as assistant coach.

Name: Tashy Angel
Position: Centre Back

Tashy is a newbie to the squad but has settled in well and is already a great personality to be around. Her style of play is calm and she is a key role model for her composure on and off the ball. She has quickness, a good eye for what's on around her and the ability to make a good firm tackle. Tashy links with Jo Poulter well, giving strikers a hard task to get around them both. Tashy has settled in well and will hopefully stay at Basingstoke for many future seasons.

Name: Lindsay Beverley
Position: Centre Midfield

It is Lindsay’s second season with Town and she is a popular player in the camp. She is known as one of the most laid back players in the squad and lets her skill do the talking on the pitch. A very intelligent player who loves to drive forward, as well as not being afraid to have a shot from outside the area, from where she has scored some outstanding goals for Town.

Name: Tracy Jones
Position: Forward

Tracy is one of the friendliest members of the Ladies team. Her passion shows on the pitch with her ability to never give up. As well as scoring herself, Tracy often brings others into play by providing excellent passes. She is a pleasure to have in the side and commits herself to every ball. Jones has great skill and can provide vital headers to her team-mates.
